Looks like the “Boycott Expansive Designer Lawn Suits Campaign” on social media, has resonated well with the women in Pakistan. Women have lined up together against the designer mafia exploiting and looting general public of their hardly earned money.
The campaign on social media that went viral has really created an impact and made a lot of sense to women as they showed a positive response and solidarity towards it.As we know, few days back a ‘copy paste status update’ made the rounds on Facebook and addressed this issue.
Here is what it said, in case you are still unaware.
“I agree let’s copy and paste let’s boycott Spending 14500 rupees for a single lawn dress on the name of EID COLLECTION like Zainab chottani or Mina Hassaan this is truly insane. I bet next year they’ll start their prices from 21500 as last year Eid collection started with 9800.
Maybe they believe we all belong to the family of #MrIshaqDar.It’s high time to let these designers realize that our men are struggling hard for us and we Respect and care the Halal earning of our husband, father or any other care taker.
Raise your voice…
Share and Boycott such Eid Collections after all we belong to a Deen that promotes simplicity and Balance. Though 15000 is not a big amount for most of us but do remember some people work 24/7 to get one big note of 5000/- which they manage for the rest 30 Days.
Let’s create some Difference This Eid!
Share & Care!”
Now we are thinking of taking it to the next level by a follow up campaign and here’s what you have to do.
We all know about these outrageously expensive and so-not-worth-it dresses. But we have the solution and we are calling it the #3KorLess challenge!!
Women/men have to put together a dress for themselves for Eid in or under 3000/- rupees, post their pictures with hashtag #3KorLess , and caption the price for the items in their formal Eid attire.Join in the fun and do this with a pure intention of getting back in touch with what the true soul of Ramzan is actually all about! What you save from this, give away in charity!! It’s a win-win!!
But first please share this post/challenge and nominate your friends.
P.S. we do realize that many of you might already have done the shopping and are all set for Eid, so we're extending the challenge until Eid-ul-Azha as well. Make your plans accordingly, dear nominees. You have been informed.”
It is important to understand that a woman of substance doesn't need a price tag to make her feel loveable or wanted, for real men love you for what you are, they love you for the purest of souls you have and the kindest of hearts that you carry.
Let us all, as women, shed the complexes we carry, this constant struggle to blend in, for fear of rejection, for being turned down, for being a misfit. Let us all tell the world that we will no longer be stereotyped, that we are all beautiful in our unique ways and all the more loveable for this differentiation.
Let us all join together against this culture of brands and labels; for we are worth more, much much more than the price we wear.So let’s make this campaign a success and save a lot of money to our self and for the needy in the true essence of Ramdan and Eid.
